It's the End of the World -- seriously?

Okay, so I'm at work when I came across a news story about how a group believed today was going to mark the beginning of the "End of the World." I get home to talk with my boyfriend and he gets news that the Center for Disease Control is warning people to prepare for a "Zombie Apocalypse."

Seriously?

What is wrong with people. I know you're entitled to your own opinions, belief and etc., but to scare the population into thinking the Earth is just going to suddenly explode into a billion pieces and scatter throughout the galaxy and some how the dead will suddenly rise and become zombies ... is just plain wrong.

So my boyfriend, gametag: Blaze1x, and I, gamertag: YuffietheGreat, were sitting there weighing the millions of different possibilities that would warrant a zombie attack and ... well ... it was quiet an entertaining discussion. Because honestly. Having the PlayStation Network down for almost an entire month was the end of the world for me.

First of all, what are zombies? According to wikipedia a Zombie (Haitian Creole: zonbi; North Mbundu: nzumbe) is a term used to describe a hypnotized person bereft of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli. Of voodoo (Vodun) origin, the word initially referred to a curse cast by sorcerers (or bokors) allowing them to take control of a person's mind, therefore affecting his or her actions. However, due to significant influence of Haitian Vodou and New Orleans Voodoo on witchcraft mythology, this meaning soon morphed into that of a human corpse mysteriously reanimated to serve the undead.

So ... real zombies are just entranced humans. They're not dead.

Second, if they are dead. Depending on the seriousness of their injuries at the time of death, what they died of or from ... how are they going to move around?

Third, how would they know who or what to eat. Someone going to give them a "Living Human Detector" and why brains? Aren't most of their teeth rotted out if they've been buried for a very long time? I would think baby food and jello would be on the top of their list. Besides, how are they going to even be able to crack open a hard skull to get the brain. That and when the living brain dies, most of the functions of a human body dies with it. How will the corpse even see where it's going?

But should Zombies begin walking the earth again and defy all logic. What is your zombie plan?
